To kick off 2026, we’re excited to share one of our biggest product updates yet, featuring 15 new enhancements that advance our mission to deliver a future-proof, continuously evolving AI video security platform — one that turns video into actionable, real-world intelligence.
This month’s release includes new AI agent capabilities, expanded functionality across VMS+, and usability improvements that make Lumana even easier to manage, operate, and scale. Lets dive in.
Admin Management Portal: A New Way to Monitor and Support Your Organization

This month, we’re introducing the new Admin Management Portal, built to give both partners and end users clearer visibility into overall system health and performance. The portal provides organization-wide insights, including Core status, bandwidth consumption, alerts, and camera-level metrics such as FPS and temperature, helping teams identify issues faster.
For partners supporting multiple client organizations, the new management portal enables centralized device monitoring across clients, allowing partners to securely switch between client environments without logging in and out of separate systems. Customers can grant access through an invite code, making multi-site troubleshooting and operational oversight significantly more efficient.
End users can also use the portal to monitor their own deployments, manage configuration settings, and accelerate expansion with enhanced bulk camera upload. Now available to all customers, the Admin Management Portal makes it easier to keep Lumana environments healthy, scalable, and future-ready.
Retail Shelf Monitoring: Detect Out-of-Stock Items and Unexpected Inventory Changes

We’re introducing Retail Shelf Monitoring, a new AI agent capability that helps retailers identify when items are out of stock or when unusual inventory changes occur. Users can define a shelf directly within Lumana, and the system continuously analyzes activity to detect inventory shifts over time. AI shelf monitoring agents can be configured to notify teams when stock drops below a threshold or when a shelf loses inventory too quickly.
Customers can also create dashboards, allowing AI insight agents to monitor real-time shelf status across user-defined time ranges, making it easier to spot trends and fluctuations. This matters because empty shelves create a poor customer experience, while rapid depletion may signal theft or high-risk events like smash-and-grabs. For retailers looking to improve both inventory awareness and store safety, Retail Shelf Monitoring brings real-time intelligence directly into the security workflow. If you’re interested in enabling this capability, please reach out to the Lumana team.
Enhanced Fall Detection: Actionable Alerts for Serious Fall Events

Lumana already delivers industry-leading fall detection at enterprise scale, and this month, we’re introducing Enhanced Fall Detection. This update adds deeper behavioral intelligence to determine not just whether someone fell, but whether they were able to get back up — dramatically reducing false alerts from normal movements like bending or tying a shoe.
Because every second a person remains down increases the severity of an incident, Enhanced Fall Detection helps teams respond with greater urgency and accuracy. Users can now configure time-based parameters so alerts trigger only when someone has fallen and cannot recover, enabling faster staff notification and automated response workflows.
This capability is especially critical for nursing homes, healthcare facilities, manufacturing sites, retail environments, and any organization responsible for high-risk populations or safety compliance. Enhanced Fall Detection is now available for all customers, helping ensure faster intervention when it matters most.
Looking Ahead: Delivering the Future of Video Security with Agentic AI
This month’s updates reflect Lumana’s continued focus on building a smarter, more proactive video security platform that delivers better outcomes in the physical workd — from centralized system management to retail inventory intelligence to enhanced AI-powered safety detection.
At Lumana, our vision goes beyond traditional video security. We’re transforming video into actionable, real-world intelligence by delivering continuously evolving AI agents that help organizations automate detection, streamline responses, accelerate investigations, and operate more efficiently with greater confidence.
