August 2024 Product Updates
This month, we released new updates that make the Lumana platform more powerful, easier to use, and more capable than ever.
Artificial Intelligence
- Search for unusual activity — Customers can now filter and find footage of unusual activity across all cameras from the Smart Search interface.
VMS+
- New sign-in page — The sign-in page has a refreshed design and a link to the product updates page.
- Help center — Users can access our help center and knowledge base to expand their knowledge of the Lumana platform.
- Camera VPN — System administrators can now access their third-party IP camera homepage to configure and adjust settings remotely.
- Additional speaker support — Customers can integrate with Uniview SIP-S21M UNV Outdoor IP Horn for automated response and alarms when a specific activity is detected.
Mobile
- Share live camera feeds — VMS+ mobile app users can securely share live camera feeds with employees, outside parties, and first responders.
- Alert view filters — To accelerate incident response and investigations, users can filter alerts by camera, alert type, name, and time.
- Create video walls — Customers can now create video walls from their mobile devices and have them appear on both mobile and desktop applications.

June 2024 Product Updates
In June’s product release, Lumana experienced significant upgrades in search and alert actions and greater system efficiency when accessing the system locally.
Artificial Intelligence
- Motion search — Lumana currently features best-in-class detection and video search capabilities (100+ objects and counting). Today, AI search functionality expands even further to include motion.
- Multiple face search — Customers can better refine their video investigations by searching for any face from a list or a group of faces within the same frame.
VMS+
- Custom alert notification messages — Customers can now build their own alert messages using out-of-the-box query parameters or HTTPs/RESTful API content. This feature enables administrators to add contextual information to streamline incident response.
Optimization
- Local mode — If users are streaming cameras via a Local Area Network (LAN), Lumana will consume zero upload bandwidth and bypass the cloud, allowing users to view camera feeds in native resolution and FPS.
AI
May 2024 Product Updates
In our latest product release, all customers now have access to AI dashboards to capture real-time data from video, additional AI capabilities, and overall system optimizations.
Artificial intelligence
- Fall detection — Lumana can now detect when people have fallen and trigger real-time alerts to system administrators or first responders.
VMS+
- AI Dashboards — Customers can now capture real-time data from video and create custom dashboards to visualize security and operational trends.
- Enhanced search filtering — Customers can now search video with greater granularity by filtering video based on specific timeframes, such as specific days between certain hours.
- PTZ camera control — Lumana’s end-to-end solution now works with any ONVIF-compliant PTZ camera. Customers can now enable Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) controls in VMS+ for greater visibility and coverage.
- API actions — Customers now use RESTful APIs to trigger automated commands with external systems as part of the alert creation process. New commands include GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH, and OPTIONS.
Mobile
- Video playback — The VMS+ mobile app now features smoother video playback for live and historical video.
- Alert control — Customers with the appropriate permissions can now enable or disable alerts.
- Smoother onboarding — Users can now join an organization directly with the mobile app, providing an easier way for your team to start using Lumana.
