At Lumana, we’re constantly asking ourselves one question: How can we give security, safety, and operations teams more control and capabilities without adding complexity?
With that in mind, this month’s product updates focus on reducing friction, expanding visibility, and making your video security system smarter, faster, and more flexible.
Whether it’s the ability to archive an entire day’s worth of footage or multi-camera playback on mobile, these upgrades were inspired by direct feedback from organizations like yours. Let’s walk through what’s new this month — and how we’ve enhanced Lumana to serve you better.
A Full Day’s Worth of Footage, Archived in the Cloud
Until now, Lumana users could archive unlimited video clips — up to 10 minutes each — at no additional cost. For many, that was more than enough. However, as incidents become increasingly complex and compliance demands rise, we recognize that some organizations require preserving much longer video windows.
We’re excited to announce that you can now archive up to 24 continuous hours of footage to the cloud. Whether you’re responding to a major event, preparing for an audit, or simply want peace of mind, longer archives give you the flexibility to retain the footage that matters most.

We’ve also enhanced archive playback, allowing you to review stored footage at up to 10x speed, making it faster than ever to scan through long videos and pinpoint key moments.
Getting started is simple: create an archive as you normally would, and now you’ll have the option to select a duration of up to 24 hours.
Smarter Reporting for Sharper Insights
Reports should do more than summarize; they should provide actionable insights. That’s why Lumana’s reporting tool now includes detailed alert activity and container-level metadata, complete with precise timestamps, all of which are exportable in clean, structured CSV format.

With these enhancements, security and operations teams can go beyond basic summaries to fully understand what happened, when, where, and how. For example, logistics teams can now track exactly when a shipping container arrived and departed, calculate dwell times, and better manage chain-of-custody workflows — all from within a single report.
Reports can also be automated and scheduled to deliver to the right teams at the right time, helping everyone stay aligned and informed.
To get started, create an alert or container report, select the appropriate settings, and you’ll see the new data fields included in the output.
More Automated Alert Actions and Responses
Lumana’s alert engine continues to evolve, providing administrators with powerful new tools to drive faster, more intelligent responses based on what the system detects. Unlike traditional systems that only detect general motion or objects, Lumana can identify specific activities and behaviors and then trigger automated responses in real-time.
With this update, we’re introducing Automated Alert Group Changes, allowing you to configure alert actions that automatically arm or disarm specific alert groups based on the events your cameras detect.
For example, if a cleaning crew is recognized on-site, Lumana can automatically disarm relevant alerts. Once they leave, the system can re-arm them, creating a fully autonomous, behavior-aware security workflow that adapts to how your organization operates.

To use this feature, start by creating an alert group. Then, when building a new alert, you’ll now see a “Change alert group state” action available, enabling smarter video security automation from end to end.
Receive Alerts Even When Offline
Most cloud and hybrid-cloud video systems struggle when the internet goes down, leaving organizations with limited visibility and no alerts. With Lumana, that’s no longer the case.
Thanks to our enhanced Webhook support, Lumana can now send alerts with images even when the system is offline, ensuring you never miss mission-critical events during maintenance windows, network disruptions, or internet outages. Lumana’s always-on architecture now truly lives up to its name, delivering the alerts you need exactly when you need them.

VMS+ Now in Spanish and Hebrew
Lumana is designed for teams of all kinds, regardless of borders, time zones, or languages. With the launch of Localization Support (Beta), users can now experience the Lumana platform in Spanish or Hebrew, making it easier for global teams to adopt and use every day.
This update removes friction for non-English-speaking users, improves training and onboarding, and ensures everyone can operate the system in the language they’re most comfortable with.
To change your language preferences, head to “Organization Settings” > “Details” to set a default for your team, or adjust your individual settings under “User Settings” > “Account Details.”

Smarter Surveillance On the Go
Security operations don’t pause when you’re away from your desk, and now, neither does Lumana.
With multi-camera historical playback, you can select and sync multiple video feeds on mobile, making it easier than ever to track movement across spaces like warehouse floors, campuses, or public areas — all from your phone. Whether you’re investigating an incident or verifying activity, reviewing video across multiple cameras simultaneously is just a few taps away.
To try this feature out, simply select a camera, review historical footage, and tap the grid icon to select multiple cameras for simultaneous viewing.

Additionally, you can now create, review, and share full video archives directly from the mobile app, giving you the power of desktop-level functionality in the palm of your hand.

Expanded Animal Detection for Rural and Agricultural Environments
Lumana’s AI just got smarter in the field — literally.
We’ve expanded our animal detection model to include mules, cows, and sheep, making it easier for agricultural and rural organizations to monitor livestock activity and investigate incidents based on specific animal types.
Whether you’re tracking movement across a pasture, monitoring restricted zones, or simply ensuring livestock safety, this update brings greater visibility and control to unique environments where traditional video analytics fall short.

To try this out, create an alert using the “animal” object type and select your preferred settings, or access the Smart Search interface and select “animal” as part of your search criteria to see what pops up.
Built for the Real World, Evolving With You
At Lumana, we believe great video security isn’t just about recording what happened — it’s about giving you the insight and tools to act while it’s happening and the flexibility to adapt to whatever comes next.
This month’s updates reflect that belief. Whether you’re operating in a high-security facility, a warehouse, a school, or an open field, Lumana continues to evolve with your needs, offering faster response, deeper context, and smarter automation across every camera, user, and environment.
From extended cloud archiving to multilingual support and intelligent alert actions, every feature we ship is designed to make your system more powerful without making your job harder. And we’re just getting started.
