Search for Unusual Activity

Lumana can now detect unusual activity, empowering users to search millions of hours of footage in seconds whenever abnormal activity occurs across their environment.

To test this feature, navigate to the Smart Search interface and select your time range, cameras, and unusual activity sensitivity. Within seconds, Lumana will deliver results that are determined to be unusual based on your environment.

Lumana features continuous situational learning, allowing connected cameras to optimize based on the video data captured. This enables Lumana’s AI models to adapt on a per-camera level, delivering more accurate identification of events, up to 90% fewer false alerts, and overall better performance compared to traditional video security systems.

When Lumana is installed, it begins to automatically learn and establish a baseline of what’s normal for a particular scene. When an abnormal event happens — such as a person moving too fast or loitering for an excessive amount of time — this event is indexed as unusual and becomes searchable through the Smart Search interface.

Streamline Onboarding with the Help Center

The Lumana platform offers various features to transform how organizations see, understand, and control their environment. To help users unlock the full potential of Lumana, we have added direct access to our help center and knowledge base from VMS+.

The help center provides best practices and informative guides on properly setting up and using Lumana to deliver the most value to your organization. You can create support tickets, read guides and documentation, and find answers to frequently asked questions. To access the help center, click the help icon at the bottom of the navigation bar.

Remote, Third-Party Configuration with Camera VPN

Previously, adjusting camera configurations for third-party IP cameras required on-site visits. Now, with Camera VPN, organizations can access their IP cameras' local pages and adjust settings remotely. Simply click “Camera VPN” in the top right corner of the camera live view to securely access the IP camera homepage and adjust settings.

Automate Security with Additional Speaker Support

At Lumana, we believe the best AI video security solution is one that’s open and integrated. Whether it’s compatibility with any IP camera and open APIs or integrations with third-party systems and hardware devices, Lumana enhances any device with the power of visual intelligence. We are excited to announce new compatibility with the Uniview SIP-S21M UNV Outdoor IP Horn. This newly supported speaker accompanies our previous integration with TOA IP Horn Speakers, enabling organizations to trigger automated messages and sounds when activity is detected.

Lumana features real-time, AI-driven alerts and customizable workflows to trigger automated responses. Organizations commonly leverage this capability by setting up external speakers to deter potential threats. For example, when someone is trespassing on your property after business hours with a weapon, an audible siren, alarm, or message can be played to mitigate potential threats.

Share and Investigate Faster in the VMS+ Mobile App

The Lumana mobile app enables users to review video footage, monitor video walls, and receive real-time alerts — all in a modern and intuitive interface. Today, users can share live camera feeds with employees, third parties, and first responders without relinquishing system access. Live camera links can be shared via URL, email, and SMS.

Additionally, to help users stay connected to what’s going on in their environments, users can now filter alerts by camera, alert type, name, and time. This streamlines investigations and enables users to view alert footage that’s most relevant at a given time.
